Disagreement Doesn't Have to Become Resistance
One thing I’ve been thinking about lately is what happens after you’ve made your case and the decision still goes another way. I’m comfortable challenging a decision. If I see risk, disagree with the approach, or think there’s a better path, I’m going to say it. Sometimes more than once.
But eventually, a decision gets made. There are times when my job is to challenge the direction, make the risks clear, and push for a different outcome. There are also times when my job is to accept that the decision has been made and give my team the clarity they need to move forward.
Disagreement doesn’t have to become resistance. I can disagree with a decision and still lead through it. For me, the hard part is knowing when I’ve crossed that line from adding value to simply continuing the argument.
